Mega Evolution

The Arc Mega Path, how the Mega Bracelet is granted, where Mega Stones come from, the bond gate, and the first-mega moment.

Mega Evolution is one of Arcadia’s biggest power spikes, and on Arcbound it is 100% earned through gameplay. You can never buy a mega, and megas never appear in any paid crate. That is a promise: mega power is proof you played, not proof you paid. We call the road to it the Arc Mega Path.

Step 1: earn the Mega Bracelet (it is granted, not crafted)

The Mega Bracelet is a mid-game milestone. Beat Gym 5 in Cragstone and, within seconds, you are granted your Key Stone and Mega Bracelet automatically, with a “Key Stone Earned” moment to mark it. There is nothing to craft and nothing to mine, if you are already past Gym 5 when you read this, you get the grant as a catch-up.

There is no digging for Key Stones on Arcbound. The old mine-it-yourself method is turned off on purpose, so earning the bracelet actually means something.

Step 2: equip the bracelet

Open your Accessories screen with the H key and equip the Mega Bracelet in the Mega slot. Once it is on, any Pokemon holding the right Mega Stone can mega evolve.

Step 3: collect Mega Stones

Each mega form needs its specific Mega Stone. Stones are bought with Grit, the currency you earn by playing, from the Mega Emporium:

Stones are a serious Grit investment, a proper late-game goal that rewards the economy you have been building the whole climb. More ways to earn rarer stones through gameplay are on the way, but nothing mega will ever be sold for real money.

The bond gate

A Pokemon will not mega evolve until it trusts you. It needs a friendship / bond of 200 or higher before it can transform, so keep it in your party, battle with it, and let the bond grow. Love your Pokemon first, then it powers up for you.

Mega evolving

With the bracelet equipped, the stone held, and the bond earned, you can mega evolve. It works both in battle and out of battle, so you can show off your mega form any time, not just mid-fight.

The first-mega moment

The first time any player mega-evolves a Pokemon, the whole server hears about it: a broadcast, a title, sound, and particles, plus a one-time reward for that player and the Megabound title. When you see it happen, that is your cue that you can get there too.

Where megas fit

Because the Key Stone lands at Gym 5, megas arrive in the back third of your journey. They add real battle strategy on top of the flat-level gym ladder rather than letting a fresh trainer stat-crush everything.
