Verified and secure

  • ✦ No administrator rights needed. It installs to your own user folder, no elevation prompt.

What it does, what it never does

  • ✦ Downloads the modpack, mod loader, and Java for the arc you pick
  • ✦ Keeps them updated automatically

  • ✕ Never asks for administrator rights
  • ✕ Never sees or stores your Microsoft password
  • ✕ Never touches anything outside its own folder

Antivirus flagged it?

Some antivirus engines flag the embedded Chromium runtime (MCEF/jcef) that powers the in-game web menu. That's a known false positive, not a real detection. If it happens to you, open Settings in the launcher and run Fix Antivirus - it clears the flag in a couple of clicks.

If Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC" on a fresh release, that's expected: a build that was just signed hasn't built up download reputation with Microsoft yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.

The installer is signed by the developer, so Windows also shows the developer's name on the certificate - that's expected too.

How to install

Pick your platform. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes.

  1. Download the .exe installer above.
  2. Run it. The installer is code-signed through Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing, so Windows verifies the publisher.
  3. Sign in with your own Microsoft account, the same login as Minecraft. Your credentials go to Microsoft, never to us.
  4. Choose your arc and press Play. Everything else installs itself.

  2. Open it and drag Arcbound into Applications.
  3. First launch: right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again (Gatekeeper).
  4. Sign in with Microsoft, choose your arc, and press Play.

  2. Make it executable: chmod +x Arcbound-*.AppImage
  3. Run it (FUSE2 required on some distros).
  4. Sign in with Microsoft, choose your arc, and press Play.

What's new in v1.2.22

  • ✦ The launcher has been rebuilt. Home is now the world you are about to enter, edge to edge, with your arc's name and one Play button you cannot miss.
  • ✦ The old sidebar is gone. Sections sit along the top now, so the world gets the whole window.
  • ✦ See what is new in the store for the arc you play, right on Home and again while your game installs.
  • ✦ What's New is readable: announcements are headlines you open, instead of walls of text.
  • ✦ Your character now stands beside your name and stats instead of floating in the middle of the screen.
  • ✦ Runs lighter on older PCs: the background effects that looped forever are gone, and everything respects your system's reduced motion setting.
  • ✦ Fixed the Store tab opening your web browser by itself when you opened it.
  • ✦ The Clan tab has been removed. Everything a clan does already lives in game.
