Grit & Shops
Grit, Arcadia's earned currency, how you earn it, and the shops that spend it.
Grit is Arcadia’s currency. It is earned only, there is no way to buy Grit with real money. Grit is how you pay for the good stuff with playtime instead of your wallet.
Earning Grit
Grit flows from almost everything you do:
- Catching Pokemon, with bonuses for catch combos.
- Winning battles, scaled to the fight.
- Pokedex milestones as you catch more unique species.
- Daily login streaks that grow the more days in a row you play.
- Voting for the server.
- Crates and duplicate skin refunds.
Spending Grit
Most shops sit at the Arclight City spawn as proper shop GUIs you walk up to, and the Nurse there heals your team for free. The core shops are:
| Shop | What it sells |
|---|---|
| Poke Mart | Every kind of Poke Ball, including Apricorn and collector balls |
| Apothecary | Healing and status-cure items, and battle X-items |
| Evolution Lab | Evolution items, stones, and trade-evolution items |
| Training Grounds | Training and breeding supplies: EV items, nature mints, breeding items, candy |
The Mega Emporium is opened with a command rather than a spawn stall, since Mega Stones are a late-game goal:
/arcshop mega_emporium
It stocks Mega Stones for your mega-capable Pokemon, a serious Grit investment.
Earned, not sold
Grit shops sell useful gameplay items, but everything in them is bought with Grit you earned by playing. The real-money store only ever sells cosmetics, ranks, and crate keys, never Grit, and never power.
Grit and Arc Coins
Do not mix up the two currencies:
- Grit is the earned currency, from catches, battles, missions, events, and the Arc Market. It buys the gameplay items above.
- Arc Coins are the premium currency from the store. They buy cosmetics and convenience only, never power. Grit is never for sale, and power is never for sale.
Big Grit goals
Grit gives you long-term goals to grind toward:
- Mega Stones in the Mega Emporium are a serious late-game investment.
- The Arc Market, where you buy the items and Pokemon other trainers list, and pay the small listing and sale fees when you sell your own.
- Evolution items, breeding supplies, and a stock of balls to build the team you actually want.
